What Inspired AWE?

Atlanta Women's Empowerment began six years ago, in 2018, as I connected with remarkable women—attorneys, doctors, and medical sales representatives. In our conversations about relationships and friendships, many of these women revealed that they had few or none. They shared painful stories of being hurt by other women—bullied, betrayed, or worse. Their trust had been broken, leaving emotional scars. Having experienced similar pain myself, I felt called by God to bring healing to these women. His desire was to mend their hearts and set them free. This inspired me to establish a nonprofit organization where women could come together, share their stories, and realize they were not alone. The organization quickly grew, and other cities expressed interest in joining. To reflect this expansion, we changed the name to American Women's Empowerment (AWE). The mission of AWE is to remove the mask of pain and pretense, allowing women to form genuine connections with like-minded peers. Now, six years later, we are still going strong.
